Jibril launches the liberal National Forces Alliance

The National Forces Alliance (NFA), a liberal umbrella coalition pledging a "civil democratic" state, was created in February 2012, with former wartime prime minister Mahmoud Jibril elected its president on 14 March 2012 — assembling the main non-Islamist current of post-Qaddafi Libya.
