Summary
Amendment to Basic Law: The Judiciary removing the Supreme Court's ability to strike down government decisions on grounds of "unreasonableness". Centerpiece of the 2023 judicial overhaul.
Impact
Passed July 24, 2023 against unprecedented opposition. Struck down by the Supreme Court 8-7 in January 2024 — the first time the court invalidated a Basic Law.
