Statement by MK Aryeh Deri, chairman of Shas, on 26 April 2026, reacting to the same High Court of Justice decision (per Justice Noam Sohlberg) conditioning a range of Haredi state benefits (daycare subsidies, transport discounts, housing-program benefits, municipal-tax discounts) on regularizing one's status with the military authorities. Translation: "The latest High Court of Justice [Bagatz] ruling constitutes a most grievous and severe blow to the very foundations of the existence of the People of Israel in the Land of Israel."
