On 13 January 2025, Nawaf Salam was nominated by 84 of Lebanon's 128 members of parliament, making him prime minister-designate days after Joseph Aoun's election as president. Salam was at the time president of the International Court of Justice, a post he resigned on 14 January 2025 to take up the role. He went on to form a government, which won confidence in February 2025. How to cite this document
