About KDP — party definition, principles & goals (National / Patriotic / Regional)

Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) is a democratic and patriotic party who believes in human rights, social justice and individual freedom. The party believes in the Kurdish and other nations' right to self determination through democratic and peaceful means, benefiting from Mustafa Barzani's patriotic legacy.
National Goals: internationalizing the Kurdish issue; returning detached areas to the Kurdistan Region per Article 140 of the federal Iraqi constitution; defending the rights of all Kurds.
Patriotic Goals: building a civil society governed by law with equal opportunities, political pluralism and peaceful transfer of power; establishing a federal parliamentary democratic system in Iraq guaranteeing full citizenship; guaranteeing the national, cultural and administrative rights of Turkmen, Chaldeans, Assyrians and Armenians; guaranteeing every religious and sectarian component's right to practice its rituals.
Regional and International Goals: friendly relations with neighbouring countries on mutual interest, good neighbourhood and non-interference; adhering to the United Nations and international treaties.
